Swarovski, leading designer of fashion jewelry, unveil a dynamic
window installation by students of the Fashion Body & Garment
Master's Program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago,
mentored by Nick Cave, professor and chair of SAIC's Fashion Design
department, at their flagship boutique on Michigan Avenue. A longtime
patron and friend of the arts, Swarovski offered its boutique windows
as a blank canvas to graduate students at this prestigious design
institution in celebration of its Presenting Sponsorship of SAIC's
annual benefit gala and runway show, THE WALK 2012.
The installation features two carefully-constructed blooming flowers
made out of Swarovski jewelry. Each flower is elegantly draped using
one-of-a-kind fabrics that were made using Swarovski jewelry images.
The textiles are further accented with Swarovski jewelry and crystals,
giving them some 3-D dimension.
