Fleurotica hits the runway once again, at the Garfield Park Conservatory,
300 N. Central Park Ave., dazzling both fashionistas and flower enthusiasts
on Friday, March 26.

Heralded as a botanical fashion show of the century, Fleurotica struts down
the catwalk this spring, as fashion meets flowers. Guests will be treated to
a variety of artistic floral interpretations in wraps and clothing, hats and
more, all made from flowers, plants and leaves. The runway soiree is a
collaborative event between the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance,
Chicago-area florists, and students from the School of the Art Institute’s
Millinery Department. The students will present their final project from the
spring hat making class.

Fleurotica’s backdrop – the lush and vibrant atmosphere inside Garfield Park
Conservatory – reinforces the evening’s floral theme, from the spicy scent
and rainforest ambiance of the Palm House to the cool, fragrant air of the
Show House. Guests enjoying the reception throughout the Conservatory
can stroll through each room and find available silent auction and raffle items
for bid. Guests attending the fashion show at 7:30p.m. in Horticulture Hall
will be greeted by a stunning fashionable floral show in eye-candy colors.
Following the fashion show, the reception will continue until 10p.m. with a
post-fashion show meet and greet with the florists and their designs and the
winners of the silent auction and raffle items can take home their exciting
prizes.

Fleurotica is further enhanced by beautiful lighting, music and professional
photographers. Catered food and beverage included. Complimentary valet
parking is available. Tickets are $100 for the reception only and $175 for the
reception and reserved seating at the fashion show. The fete, presented by
Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, will provide funds for its public
programs and education initiatives. Reservations are required by calling
773-638-1766, extension 28. For more information, visit
www.garfieldconservatory.org.

Owned by the Chicago Park District and operated in partnership with the
Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance, the Conservatory is open Monday
through Sunday from 9a.m. to 5p.m. and on Wednesdays from 9a.m. to
8p.m., with free admission and convenient free parking. (Special exhibit and
activity fees may apply.) For information about Garfield Park Conservatory
