Thousands of salon professional and hundreds of professional beauty product exhibitors came to America's Beauty Show 2011. The three day long beauty industry show was held at McCormick Place. This year's ABS schedule was packed with beauty's most celebrated headlines. Each year the show brings something new and is a great place for all the beauty professionals to learn new techniques, styles and find best products for their client.

ABS 2011 presented the exclusive salon industry showing of
Vidal Sassoon the movie. A story about Vidal Sassoon and how one man changed the world with a pair of Scissors.

Many celebrity stylists joined in Chicago for the ABS 2011. The Australian hairstylist, salon owner, and television personality known for
Tabatha's Salon Takeover, Tabatha Coffey, was at the ABS signing her new book "It's Not Really about Hair". Ted Gibson a celebrity hairdresser and the hair expert on the cable show "What Not to Wear" along with Yolly ten Koppel of the Pivot Point International artistic team presented the upcoming fashion and beauty trends. Nick Arrojo a celebrity hair stylist and a hairstylist on TLC's "What Not To Wear" for seven years presented Wella professionals on the big runway stage. A special guest for the TIGI team was Anthony Mascolo who is a creative force behind TIGI Products and won the title "British Hairdresser of the Year" three times. Other well known stylists emceed the fantastic and creative Runway @ABS like Robert Cromeans, Stephanie Kocielski, Angus Mitchell & Takashi Kitamura from John Paul Mitchell Systems, Mark Hayes with the Sassoon Academy Creative team, Irvine & Louise for the RUSK, Brian & Sandra Smith, Chrystofer Benson and Daniel Roldan for the Matrix, Jan Arnold of the CND and many more.

P&G salon professionals presented the student stylist competition, with the theme "Building the next generation of stylist". The winners of the $1,000 dollar check were Gabriella Lejeciz winner for the Clairol Professionals, Morgan Lynne Petty for the Professional Sebastian & Kathryn Hornick Wella Professionals.

We ran into
Mario Tricoci Chicago's own celebrity stylist and owner of the Mario Tricoci brand. As well as our friends George Gonzalez, HARPO Hairstylist and The George Salon Owner and Nevena Rothe, American Crew educator and owner of the Custom Hair Lounge.
